Today we introduce you to Miss Anna! Anna is a Registered Behavior Technician.
Tell us about your family.
I currently live in Birmingham, Alabama. My parents and little brother reside in Atlanta, Georgia. My boyfriend and I share a two-year-old Husky.
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
In my spare time, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, such as tie-dye and resin art. I also have an Etsy store! I love to listen to live music and attend concerts.
Favorite Birmingham restaurant?
My favorite restaurant in Birmingham is SoHo Social.
Where did/do you go to school?
I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2018. I plan on continuing my education in the future for counseling.
What made you want to be an BCBA/BCaBA/RBT?
I began working as an RBT following graduation, and I fell in love with it!
What’s your favorite aspect of being a BCBA/BCaBA/RBT?
My favorite aspect of being an RBT is forming professional relationships with the children and their families. I love helping them meet outcomes, and I get to “be a kid again” during natural environment training.
What are your favorite resources for learning more about behavior analysis and/or Autism?
Social media can be a great source of information. I follow many BCBAs, licensed counselors, and individuals with Autism, which provides a different and enlightening perspective for me. I also find information through podcasts.
What’s the one thing you wish parents knew about behavior analysis?
Your child comes first! And consistency is key. We are on the same team, and we want to help your child meet those outcomes.
